A British celebrity who says he could take his own life if he is publicly identified over sexual misconduct claims will learn on Tuesday whether his name stays secret.

Justice Matthew Nicklin is set to deliver his decision from London's High Court later that day, according to reports.

The judge must decide whether to stop ITN and The Guardian from publishing who the man is.

What the case is about

The star took legal action against the two news organizations to stop them from naming him in their coverage of the allegations. The claims include what has been described as "inappropriate and exploitative sexual activities with a large number of girls and young women."

He denies all of it.

Arguments in court

His lawyer Sara Mansoori has told the court that identifying him "would have a potentially fatal impact" because of his stated intention to end his life if his name comes out.

Gavin Millar represents the two media groups. He has pushed back by arguing that judging and guarding against the risk of suicidal thoughts is "for professionals and not for a judge."

The decision is due Tuesday.
