Fever star Aliyah Boston has surgery to repair the meniscus in her right knee
Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston had arthroscopic surgery to repair the lateral meniscus in her right knee. The team gave no timeline for her return.

The Indiana Fever's offseason started with a trip to the operating room for one of their stars.
Aliyah Boston had arthroscopic surgery on her right knee on Wednesday to repair the lateral meniscus, the team announced Thursday. Dr. Corey Kendall performed the procedure.
Boston will now begin rehab with the Fever's medical and performance staff. The team did not say how long she will be out or whether her recovery could reach into the 2027 season.
A big year through the pain
Boston dealt with leg trouble for much of the season but still earned her fourth straight All-Star selection. She averaged 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
She saved some of her best basketball for the playoffs. Boston averaged 19.7 points on 58.1 percent shooting and made 45.5 percent of her 3-pointers in Indiana's first-round series against the Las Vegas Aces. The sixth-seeded Fever were knocked out in that series.
Locked in for the long haul
Boston signed a four-year extension with Indiana in April. "I'm super blessed and grateful for this opportunity and to continue my journey here with the Fever," she said at the time. "I can't wait to keep building upon everything we have accomplished so far."
A busy winter in Indiana
Boston and Caitlin Clark form the core of the Fever's future. The rest of the roster is less settled. Four-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell is set to become an unrestricted free agent and has said she will explore her options. Sharpshooter Sophie Cunningham is also headed to the open market.
For now the focus is on Boston's knee. Indiana will hope its 24-year-old anchor is back at full strength when training camp opens next spring.
