YouTube down for thousands of users Wednesday, Downdetector reports
Thousands of people reported trouble loading YouTube on Wednesday, sending Downdetector to the top of U.S. search trends.

Downdetector is one of the top searches in the U.S. today after thousands of users reported problems with YouTube on Wednesday morning, according to GV Wire.
Downdetector tracks outages by counting reports from users. Problems with video playback, the app and the website were among the most common complaints.
YouTube had not shared a cause as reports came in. Users who run into trouble can check the YouTube help account on X or the Downdetector status page for updates.
Not the first outage this week
Earlier this week, AT&T customers also reported service problems. Thousands flagged an AT&T outage on Monday. AT&T internet service in Northwest Arkansas went down before it was restored, 5News reported.
Outages like these often clear within hours. Restarting the app, clearing its cache or switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data can sometimes help if the problem is on your end.
How to tell if it's just you
If friends and family on other networks are having the same problem, the issue is likely on the company's side. Spikes on Downdetector usually show up within minutes of a widespread outage.
