The champs are keeping their core together.

Unrivaled unveiled its Season 3 rosters this week. Defending champion Mist BC is bringing back Breanna Stewart, Arike Ogunbowale and Veronica Burton.

Stewart scored 32 points to lead Mist to the title in the 3-on-3 league's second season.

How the teams were built

Rosters come together through protections and a draft. Half of the eight-team league has players returning to their club. Coaches and the league office then fill out each team based on the coaches' input.

The goal is to build teams with talent that fits together while keeping the league balanced.

Mist added Bridget Carleton, Kiki Rice and Isabelle Harrison around its three returning stars.

Plum gets a new crew

Runner-up Phantom BC will look very different. Kelsey Plum is the only returning player. She will be joined by Aaliyah Edwards, Kayla McBride, Natasha Cloud, Tiffany Hayes and Li Yueru, who played for Mist last season.

New faces

WNBA Rookie of the Year Olivia Miles will play her first Unrivaled season. She is on Hive BC with her former Notre Dame teammate Sonia Citron.

WNBA Finals MVP Gabby Williams will suit up for Laces BC alongside her French teammate Marine Johannes.

The league is also hitting the road this season with stops in eight cities, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit and Philadelphia. The season tips off Jan. 8.
