Marquez Valdes-Scantling is back in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers signed the veteran wide receiver to their practice squad on Tuesday ahead of their trip to Paris to play the New Orleans Saints.

Valdes-Scantling, 32, spent part of the 2025 season with Pittsburgh. He caught 10 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in five games, then added three catches in a first-round playoff loss to the Houston Texans.

Why Pittsburgh needs him

The Steelers are thin at receiver. Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson both went on injured reserve in the past week. That leaves little experience behind DK Metcalf and rookie Germie Bernard, who combined for 22 catches in Sunday's comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Third team in under two months

Dallas released Valdes-Scantling in late August. He signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in September and caught two passes for 22 yards in three games before they let him go last week.

He also has a long history with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The two played together in Green Bay, where Valdes-Scantling caught 123 passes in four seasons from 2018 to 2021.
