Seahawks rule out Zach Charbonnet for Sunday night against the Chiefs as his season debut waits
Eight months after ACL surgery, the Seattle running back will sit one more week. Mike Macdonald says there was no setback and the plan is on track.

Zach Charbonnet's season debut will have to wait at least one more week. The Seattle Seahawks have ruled out the running back for Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Charbonnet is about eight months removed from surgery to repair a torn left ACL. He returned to practice Oct. 1, was a full participant by Wednesday and came off the physically unable to perform list on Thursday.
Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Charbonnet did not suffer a setback. "If anything, it's going as good as we could hope it could go," he said.
Sticking to the plan
Charbonnet was listed as a full participant all three days this week. Before that he was limited on all eight injury reports since his return to practice.
"I think we're going along with the plan," Macdonald said. "The plan was to get a great week's worth of work and see where we're at." He added that Charbonnet is "doing great" and the team will see how it goes next week.
Injuries across the roster
The defending Super Bowl champions will get right guard Anthony Bradford (knee) back as they try to snap a two-game losing streak. Bradford has missed the past five games. Macdonald plans for him to play the whole game.
Weakside linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle) will miss a second straight game. Linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf) is also out. Outside linebackers DeMarcus Lawrence (knee), Uchenna Nwosu (hip) and Connor O'Toole (hamstring) are questionable, along with safety Nick Emmanwori (hip) and quarterback Drew Lock (right elbow).
"I wouldn't say he got hurt," Macdonald said of Emmanwori. "He just had a hip today."
Who carries the ball
With Charbonnet not ready and rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price still on injured reserve with a chest injury, Seattle's top three running backs are Emanuel Wilson, George Holani and Velus Jones Jr. Price will be eligible to return next week.
"J.D.'s doing well," Macdonald said. "We'll look at it. Next week I believe is when his window can open."
