The wait for Jordyn Tyson is almost over.

The New Orleans Saints will have their rookie wide receiver and left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. active for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns according to league sources. Both players were listed as questionable this week.

Tyson was the eighth overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. He has not played since injuring his right hamstring in a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 13 when he landed awkwardly after a catch.

A slow start that Tyson calls a blessing

Tyson and the team have said the injury was not tied to his hamstring trouble in college. He missed three games at Arizona State last season and tore three knee ligaments at Colorado in 2022.

"Kind of got a slow start to the NFL so I got to kind of take my time and kind of really adjust to it," Tyson said.

Banks also returned to practice this week following ankle surgery.

Miller released

To make room for Tyson the Saints released running back Kendre Miller. The 2023 third-round pick led the team with 159 rushing yards this season. New Orleans had already claimed Audric Estime off waivers from Cleveland.

The Saints ran for only 18 yards in their last game before the bye.

Cleveland (5-3) will start Shedeur Sanders at quarterback. Deshaun Watson cleared the concussion protocol Saturday but remains questionable.
