Witness tells Russell Brand jury he grabbed her arm outside an MTV restroom in 2001
A former MTV worker testified that Russell Brand grabbed her arm and urged her into a restroom in 2001. His lawyers suggested he only hoped for consensual sex.

A second woman took the stand Friday in Russell Brand's criminal trial. She told jurors he tried to get her into a bathroom with him back in 2001.
The rape and sexual assault trial has now wrapped its first week of testimony.
The alleged encounter
The woman said she was working for MTV at the time. She testified that she praised the T-shirt Brand had on. The two traded some light teasing before he asked her to point him toward the restroom.
Once they reached it, she said, Brand took hold of her arm and begged her to step inside. She described a "wild" look in his eyes.
She told the court she was strong enough to resist being pulled in. She said she gave him a scolding before she left.
Cross-examination
Brand's legal team suggested to the witness that he had simply wanted consensual sex with her that day. They said he backed off once it was clear she had no interest.
She rejected that idea. She asked why anyone would try to haul a person into a toilet if not to assault them.
Photos from 1999
Jurors were also shown more photos tied to a separate accuser who says Brand raped her in a hotel room in 1999. The pictures were taken at a fringe cabaret show Brand appeared in before the alleged attack. In them he wears a black-and-white shirt while sharing the stage with other cast members.
A day earlier the jury saw shirtless photos of Brand blowing a kiss toward the camera.
The charges
Brand faces seven counts. They are three of rape plus three of sexual assault along with one of indecent assault. He has always maintained that every sexual encounter he has had was consensual.
