Renato Moicano can see the finish line of his MMA career.

The veteran UFC lightweight said this week he plans to fight out his current contract and then leave the sport.

"For me, it's these three more fights," Moicano said. "I think after these 3 I'm done because [the UFC] is not gonna pay me enough."

Next stop, the boxing ring

Moicano wants to try influencer boxing once he is done in the Octagon.

"I want to beat up people that don't know how to fight," he said in an interview on Monday.

He also made it clear he does not want to hang around too long. "I don't wanna be like Tony Ferguson," Moicano said. "Sometimes you have to realize when you're done."

A tough night in Las Vegas

Moicano's comments came days after he lost to Tom Nolan in the main event of UFC's Halloween card in Las Vegas.

Moicano controlled much of the early action on the ground. In the second round referee Dan Miragliotta stood the fighters up while Moicano had Nolan's back. Nolan stopped him in the third round.

The standup has been one of the most talked-about calls in MMA this week. Moicano says he has made peace with the result.

A drop in the rankings

The loss dropped Moicano to 21-8. He also fell from No. 8 to No. 14 in the UFC lightweight rankings.

Nolan jumped from No. 12 to No. 7 with the win.
