Ken Urker's family got a rent request from his landlord a week after he died
The landlord of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's late partner Ken Urker asked his mother for October rent, then said he would drop the balance.

Seven days after Ken Urker died in his rental home, the family heard from his landlord about money.
The request
People close to the Urker family say his relatives cleared out the home and left it spotless. Ken died there on October 1. The landlord walked through, thanked them and then on Wednesday contacted Ken's mother about October's rent.
The family felt the request came far too soon. They also believed the security deposit Ken had paid should cover the $1,400 owed for the month.
The landlord's side
The landlord says Ken had signed a three-month extension before his earlier lease ran out on October 1. That kept him on the hook through the end of December.
He confirms he reached out about the rent. Now he says he will forgive what is left on the lease because Ken has died. Police were the ones who put the landlord in touch with the family after the death.
Ken and Gypsy
Ken and Gypsy Rose Blanchard had been living apart before he died. Sources say the pair never saw it as a real breakup and were talking about finding a home together.
The two dated years ago, split and later got back together. They share a daughter named Aurora.
Aurora was at Ken's private viewing last weekend. Sources say she knew her father and called out "Daddy." Gypsy and most of Ken's family attended. His relative Autumn did not.
