Kamala Harris will not say she is running for president in 2028. On Keke Palmer's podcast she made clear she has not locked in a decision and would rather talk about the next midterms.

The question she tried to dodge

Near the end of the "Baby, This is Keke Palmer" interview Palmer asked the former vice president the question everyone wants answered. Harris laughed and seemed ready to move on. Palmer kept pressing.

Harris said she has not decided yet. She added that a personal choice will not matter much unless Democrats make major gains in the midterm elections first.

Midterms before 2028

She steered the talk toward turnout this year. Worry about who tops the 2028 ticket later, she suggested; first win the midterms.

She has teased another run before. In a BBC interview she talked about her nieces one day seeing her behind the Resolute Desk.

Emhoff's reported view

A Friday Wall Street Journal story said Doug Emhoff, her husband, prefers that she skip another presidential campaign. Harris did not settle that family debate on Palmer's show. For now her public line is simple: undecided and focused on the midterms.
