Jeffery Simmons wrecks Seattle in his Bears debut as Caleb Williams leads a 34-17 win over the Seahawks
New Bears defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons had a sack in his debut and Caleb Williams was sharp as Chicago beat the defending champion Seahawks on Monday night.

The Chicago Bears paid a big price for Jeffery Simmons. He paid them back in one night.
The All-Pro defensive tackle had a sack on Seattle's opening drive of his Bears debut Monday night. Caleb Williams was nearly flawless on offense as Chicago beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 34-17.
The Bears are now 6-2. It was their third straight win and their fifth in six games.
The Simmons effect
Chicago traded two first-round picks plus a fourth-rounder to Tennessee for Simmons last week.
He finished with six tackles and another tackle for loss. He also broke up a pass.
Seattle averaged just 3.0 yards per play when he was on the field. In the eight snaps he sat out, the Seahawks averaged 13.3.
The Bears held Seattle to 252 total yards. The Seahawks converted just one of 11 third downs.
Williams stays clean
Williams completed about 71% of his passes for 247 yards. He did not turn the ball over and was sacked only once.
He opened the game with a 17-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden. Seattle had not allowed a touchdown on an opening drive since the 2025 opener.
Swift keeps scoring
D'Andre Swift ran for three short touchdowns. He gained only 57 yards on 24 carries but now leads the NFL with 10 rushing touchdowns.
He is the first Bears player with 10 rushing scores in a season since Raymont Harris in 1997.
Seattle's late push
The Seahawks were bottled up for most of the first half. Sam Darnold finally hit Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 43-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left before halftime.
Chicago led 20-9 in the third quarter. DeMarcus Lawrence then forced a fumble early in the fourth that set up Darnold's 7-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp. A 2-point conversion cut the lead to 20-17.
The Bears answered with a touchdown drive. Darnold then threw a tipped interception that set up Swift's third score with 4:41 to play.
Darnold finished 17 of 34 for 188 yards with two touchdowns. He has now thrown an interception in six straight games.
A rough night for the champs
Seattle has lost three of its last four games. The loss also ended a 30-game run in which the Seahawks had not lost by more than four points.
Defensive lineman Leonard Williams left in the second half with a stinger.
