JD Vance doubts the Fort Hood gunman's execution will be streamed and says he would skip it anyway
The vice president told reporters Friday he is not sure the Pentagon will broadcast Nidal Hasan's execution. He urged people to remember the victims.

Vice President JD Vance is not convinced the Pentagon will actually broadcast the execution of Fort Hood gunman Nidal Hasan. Either way he says he has no plans to watch.
Reporters asked Vance on Friday about the plan to stream the December firing squad execution online. "I don't know that that's actually going to happen," he said.
Focus on the victims
Vance tried to steer attention away from the debate over the broadcast. He said the argument over the method should not overshadow what Hasan did. He called him a man who brutally murdered many innocent people.
"If it's ultimately livestreamed, I'm not going to be watching it," Vance added.
The plan so far
A day earlier a War Department official said the execution would be streamed despite criticism of the idea.
His firing squad date is December 3. It will take place at the Texas Army post where he opened fire in 2009. A military jury convicted him over that attack, which left 13 dead and 32 hurt.
President Donald Trump signed off on the execution. He has said Hasan deserves the death penalty and has called him a maniac.
