Jayden Daniels gets his first win in more than a year after a fiery sideline speech sparks the Commanders past the Eagles
Jayden Daniels won his first start since Oct. 2025 as the Commanders beat the Eagles 27-10. A sideline speech sparked 27 straight Washington points.

Jayden Daniels finally got to celebrate again.
The Washington Commanders quarterback led a 27-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. It was his first win as a starter since Oct. 5, 2025.
Asked if it felt like a year, Daniels said, "It probably felt longer."
A rough stretch
Daniels had gone 0-7-1 in his previous eight starts. He dislocated his left elbow last season and again this year. He did not finish four of those games.
On Sunday he completed 16 of 29 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown to Stefon Diggs. He also ran for 23 yards.
"It's a blessing," Daniels said. "Just to keep pushing and keep fighting through adversity to come out with a big-time win with these guys."
The speech
Washington started badly with four penalties, a missed field goal, a three-and-out plus a lost fumble. Daniels then gathered the offense on the sideline.
"It was complete BS, just how we started and what we were doing," he said. "You just get frustrated and you go up and you got to speak your mind."
The Commanders scored the next 27 points. Running back Austin Ekeler said it was the first time he had seen Daniels do that during a game.
"He showed a lot of toughness," coach Dan Quinn said. Washington is now 2-4-1 and two games behind the first-place Giants in the NFC East.
