Harry Styles plays his unreleased song for Liam Payne at Madison Square Garden
On the second anniversary of Liam Payne's death Harry Styles told a sold-out Madison Square Garden about losing his friend then played What Is Enough.

Harry Styles used his Friday night show at Madison Square Garden to honor Liam Payne with a song nobody had heard before.
The concert in Midtown Manhattan landed on the anniversary of Payne's death.
A song written for a friend
Styles debuted "What Is Enough," an unreleased track he said he wrote for his late bandmate.
The two grew close as members of One Direction. Niall Horan plus Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik rounded out the group.
Payne died in October 2024 after a fall from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
What he told the crowd
Before the first notes Styles spoke to the sold-out arena about Payne. He said that exactly two years earlier he had lost one of his closest friends.
He told fans he guessed many of them had gone through something similar and hoped they had not. His message boiled down to one idea: "it's just about looking after each other."
Styles thanked the people who have shaped his life and said he would not be where he is without them. He then introduced the song as one he wrote for his friend roughly two years ago.
The performance
The crowd roared as he sang "What Is Enough" live for the first time in tribute to Payne.
