Harry Kane's Champions League scoring run ends one game shy of Cristiano Ronaldo
Harry Kane's run of scoring in 10 straight Champions League games ended in Madrid, one short of Cristiano Ronaldo's record, but Bayern still won 2-0.

Harry Kane came up just short of history.
The Bayern Munich striker had scored in 10 straight Champions League games. He did not score Tuesday at Atlético Madrid, so Cristiano Ronaldo still holds the record at 11.
Bayern won anyway, 2-0. Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer scored the goals. Kane set up the second one.
Fresh off the Ballon d'Or
Kane had moved within one of Ronaldo on the third matchday with a penalty against Arsenal.
He came into the game fresh off winning the Ballon d'Or.
His run began with two goals against Union Saint-Gilloise in the league phase last season. He then scored in every game he played through Bayern's semifinal loss to Paris Saint-Germain.
This season he has scored against Bodo/Glimt, Viking FK and Arsenal.
Ronaldo's mark
Ronaldo set his record with Real Madrid. It started with two goals against Juventus in the 2017 final.
He then scored in all six group games in 2017-18 plus both legs of the round of 16 and the quarterfinals. Madrid went on to win a third straight title that season by beating Liverpool in the final.
A new deal soon
Kane has also said a new contract with Bayern is "extremely close." He expects it to be done in the coming days.
