Dawson Mercer finally found the net in Winnipeg colors.

The forward scored his first goal as a Jet and Mark Scheifele added a goal and an assist as Winnipeg beat the Vancouver Canucks 6-2 on Thursday at Canada Life Centre.

The Jets (6-8-3) have won two straight after a nine-game skid. Vancouver dropped to 3-14-1 with a fourth straight loss.

Fast start

Alex Iafallo and Cole Koepke scored 14 seconds apart early in the first. Mercer made it 3-1 late in the period on a one-timer set up by Cole Perfetti for his first goal since the Oct. 23 trade from New Jersey.

"It was good. I was happy to get it finally," Mercer said. Neal Pionk and Scheifele pushed the lead to 5-1 in the second. Mario Ferraro capped it in the third.

Björck's first point

Viggo Björck assisted on Scheifele's goal for his first NHL point at 18 years and 238 days. Brock Boeser and Liam Ohgren scored for Vancouver.

Stuart Skinner made 24 saves. Winnipeg was coming off the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history in Montreal on Tuesday and refused to come out flat at home.
