Daphne was not hunting for a new restaurant when she started rolling egg rolls at home. She had stepped away from her last place and was focused on her family.

After COVID she kept noticing people who wanted fast food that still tasted like a kitchen made it. She tested old flavors in a new shape, handed samples out and listened.

One video changed the week. Lines ran for hours. The tiny setup could not keep up and people waited anyway. She says the business that grew out of those lines is about $1.8 million a year.

A video and a line that did not fit

On Upflip she talks about building systems after the rush, when the recipe was no longer the hard part and the line was.

The yearly figure is hers. The start was a quiet test at home that a video made public.
