Cornell Jane Doe has received death threats since filing her lawsuit, attorney says
The messages reportedly pressure her to drop the case and include threats against her family. She has gone to police.

The former Cornell student who has accused seven fraternity members of drugging and raping her says she is now being threatened.
According to the New York Post, Jane Doe has received a stream of threatening calls and texts since filing her civil lawsuit last month, including threats of gun violence against her family. One message reportedly told her to withdraw the case if she cared about her family. She has reported the messages to police.
An unconfirmed claim
One person sending messages reportedly claimed to be related to Jonathan Newell, one of the men named in the lawsuit. That connection has not been confirmed and there is no indication Newell was involved.
"Fought in court"
Her attorney, Thomas Giuffra, condemned the alleged intimidation, saying the case should be decided in court, not through threats.
Jane Doe alleges she was given ketamine and sexually assaulted at the Chi Phi house in October 2024. The men deny the allegations and no criminal charges have been filed. The criminal investigation was reopened after her lawsuit, which also sparked protests across campus.
