Norman Powell scored 25 points and rookie Caleb Wilson added 21 as the Chicago Bulls held off the Milwaukee Bucks 132-125 on Friday in Milwaukee.

The game tipped off four hours earlier than first planned because the Milwaukee Brewers were hosting Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night.

Leonard Miller scored 19 points for Chicago. Jalen Smith had 14 points with 13 rebounds and Buddy Hield chipped in 13 as the Bulls bounced back from a 135-92 season-opening loss at Toronto on Wednesday.

Herro shines in a losing effort

Tyler Herro led all scorers with 34 points. The Milwaukee-area native was one of four players sent to the Bucks in the offseason blockbuster that shipped Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.

Jaime Jaquez Jr., another former Heat player, posted 19 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Kuzma scored 14 and Myles Turner added 12. Milwaukee is 0-2 after also losing its opener in Washington.

The teams traded the lead through much of the night before the Bulls closed it out by making a string of free throws down the stretch.

Remembering Don Nelson

Before the game the Bucks held a moment of silence for Don Nelson, the winningest coach in franchise history. A video tribute followed at halftime. Nelson died Aug. 9 at age 86.
